This October 10th, celebrate RWU's Coming Out Day 2013! For the past several years, colleges across the country and around the world have held a National Coming Out Day to celebrate individuals who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning. The Day also provides an opportunity for allies of LGBTQ students, faculty and staff to visibly offer support through participation in events.
This year, we have an exciting day planned: 12:30 pm on the D'Angelo Common in front of the library will be an "LGBTQ? Fine by me" group photo. If you are part of the LGBTQ community or an ally, please join us for a group photo to show the strength of our community at RWU! From 3:30-5:00 pm in the GHH Atrium: Come by RWU OUTFest for FREE giveaways, food and more! From 6:00-7:00 pm in GHH G01: Join us for a Coming Out open-mic event featuring student performers and a chance for you to tell your own "Coming Out" story or to support others' stories. From 7:00-8:00 pm on the GHH lawn: Help us wrap up the day with a candlelight vigil to honor the voices we won't hear on Coming Out Day; featuring student performers. For additional questions, please contact Candice De Los Reyes, Asst. Director of the Intercultural Center and Program Coordinator for LGBTQ affairs, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
