BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Board of Trustees has authorized negotiations to move forward with Berkeley Investments Inc. for its Providence Campus expansion. The University is currently considering leasing 76,000 square feet of space at One Empire Plaza.
With an anticipated opening in June 2016, the move would nearly double the University’s footprint in downtown Providence and allow more students – law students, adult learners and undergraduates – access to enhanced learning and engagement opportunities in the capital city. The building will provide expanded space for the University’s School of Law, School of Continuing Studies and growing array of community engagement programs, including the Community Partnerships Center, Latino Policy Institute, HousingWorks RI and more.
The new campus location would replace RWU’s Metro Center at 150 Washington Street in Providence.
