“From the Stacks to the Pages: How Research Tells the Stories from History” features a panel discussion with a historical author and a historical re-enactor. Taylor M. Polites is the author of The Rebel Wife and other works appearing in the anthologies, Knitting Yarns: Writers on Knitting, and the upcoming, Providence Noir. He teaches in the Wilkes University Creative Writing MFA program, at Roger Williams University and the Rhode Island School of Design. Jeffrey Meriwether is an Associate Professor of History at RWU and a U.S. Navy Reservist. Since 2003, Meriwether has taken full advantage of the region’s colonial roots by signing on as a Revolutionary War re-enactor with His Majesty’s Tenth Regiment of Foot, one of several British regiments stationed in the Boston area during the Revolution.
