Gregg Roberts is an artist from Cotuit, Massachusetts. He was commissioned by RWU during the final stages of construction of the Global Heritage Hall to design a Sailor's Valentine that replicates the shape of the window of the Linden House in Bristol. The 48" by 48" Sailor's Valentine represents 1500 hours of work and depicts eight areas and sites from old Bristol. He used local shells and materials, and it was framed using wood from ale vats from the Narragansett Brewery. He will officially unveil his artwork -- currently displayed in the Bristol Heritage Classroom -- and provide the backstory for the commissioned piece.
