RWU Visual Arts at Bristol-Warren Art Night

RWU’s Art Studios and student work created at the Byfield building (220 High Street) and the Reynolds building (235 High Street) in Bristol will be featured in the Bristol-Warren Art Night on Thursday, September 29, at 5:30 PM.September 29 from 5:30-8 PM. Visual Arts Studies majors and ceramics students will exhibit their work as well as host an open house of the senior students. RWU’s multidisciplinary art program has been enhanced this Fall by the creation of a new Clay Studio at the Reynolds building, with sixteen wheels and hand-building area for an equal number of students, along with four kilns.

Bristol-Warren Art Night is a group of art-makers, advocates, and businesses owners collaborating to support the local creative community and the cultural and economic vitality of Bristol and Warren, R.I., with free, affordable and open educational programs involving youth through seniors. RWU’s students are at the Byfield building this semester in VARTS 491 Intermedia Studio with Program Director/Professor Michael Rich, and at the Reynolds building in VARTS 233 Clay Studio with Professor Nermin Kura. Students enjoy the collaborative presence of artists who have studios at the Byfield building and are part of the Byfield Art and Design Group (BADG), which includes several RWU full-time and part-time faculty.
