Grant Writing Workshop for Faculty and Administrators

October 23, 2013
9:00 AM - 10:30 AM
Location: SE 115
  • Registration Required

Interested in applying for federal, state or foundation grants but don’t know where to start? Have a project you love, and wonder how to write a grant for outside funding? The RWU Office of Sponsored Programs is presenting its semi-annual workshops for faculty and administrators interested in pursuing grant funding for research, programs or other purposes. It is an excellent time to seek grant funding and lend your support for Affordable Excellence at RWU! While our office does not handle grants to individuals (such as fellowships), we are pleased to assist in the development and submission of proposals that enrich the University’s ability to provide research and programmatic opportunities for faculty and students. Each year, RWU has close to 50 grants in operation, and we welcome the opportunity to assist you in developing a proposal. Join us for one of the Grant Writing Workshops for faculty, administrators and staff presented by the Office of Sponsored Programs. Sessions will be held on Tuesday, October 22 in GHH 119 and Wednesday, October 23 in SE 115 (same content both days) from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. We are also offering follow-up consultation sessions on a sign-up basis for individual assistance on specific aspects such as proposal development, budget, or how to use search engines to find grant opportunities. Workshop topics include: how to find grant opportunities; elements of a strong proposal; tips for improving your chances; policies and procedures at RWU; developing a budget and next steps after receiving notification of funding. Participants receive a binder that includes sample proposals, grant writing tips, resources for identifying grant opportunities, and RWU guidelines. To register or for further information, contact Nancy Cifune at or via phone at ext. 3552. Please specify which session you would like to attend.
