Forum on Improving Food Recovery in Rhode Island

March 31, 2017
9:30 AM - 2:00 PM
Location: Providence Public Library & RWU Providence Campus
  • Open to the Public
In collaboration with the Governor's Director of Food Strategy and Á La Rhody, Roger Williams University will present a forum exploring how the state can improve food recovery in Rhode Island. It is presented as part of the Á La Rhody programming, which celebrates food in Rhode Island.

Across the country, colleges and universities have made formal commitments to reducing food waste and improving food recovery. This panel brings together representatives from community agencies, local government and Rhode Island colleges and universities to explore strategies for a more coordinated food recovery response in our state.

The event will feature a panel discussion titled, "RI Colleges & Universities: Untapped Resources of Food Recovery," an exhibition titled, "On the Table," and breakout sessions exploring food insecurity and food recovery. The event will be held at the Providence Public Library in the morning and at the RWU Providence campus in the afternoon.
