Columbus' Legacy: Colonization and the Impact on Native People

October 15, 2013
6:30 PM
Location: RWU Library, Mary Tefft White Center

As the old rhyme goes, Christopher Columbus sailed the ocean blue in 1492 and discovered America. But there is more to the story of the explorer we celebrate with a federal holiday on the second Monday of every October. Join us for a panel discussion to learn more about Columbus’ legacy and the impact of colonization on indigenous and native people. Our panelists are Annawon Weeden from the Wampanoag nation, Professor Autumn Quezada-Grant, and Professor Charlotte Carrington.
