The 13th Annual Professor John Howard Birss, Jr. Memorial Lecture Series celebrates the 50th anniversary of Sylvia Plath's famous novel "The Bell Jar." Part of the celebration includes a special library exhibition, "Sylvia Plath and The Bell Jar," which features first editions of the book, a manual typewriter owned by Plath, original typescripts and a certified copy of Plath’s death certificate, among other items.
The exhibition is co-curated by Christine Fagan of Roger Williams University and Karen Kukil of Smith College and sponsored by the Professor John Howard Birss, Jr. Memorial Library Fund. The exhibition is open daily during the library's operating hours.
